My brothers and sisters in Christ,
Due to the increase in the number of new cases, the whole of Sarawak is now under CMCO. Because of this, all church masses and activities are suspended until the end of the CMCO. However, our Christian life in the parish has to find new ways and means to go on so that even though faced with so many restrictions and obstacles, we can still remain in communion with the Lord and united in prayer with one another no matter where we are. Here are some of the ways that we can accomplish this:
- There will be live streaming of daily and Sunday masses online beginning this Sunday, 24th January 2021 (refer to the schedule and time) until the end of the CMCO.
- The parish office will still be opened as usual and priests can still be contacted for any urgent needs or matters (anointing of the sick and funeral rites).
- 0162248126 is the parish’s new hp number where parishioners can use to contact the parish office for their pastoral need such as:
a. To request for confession, anointing of the sick and communion to the sick, the homebound and those in the hospital
b. To receive weekly Sunday reflection or message from the Rector and the church notices.
c. To register for any future classes or courses organized in the parish (such as RCIA, Infant Baptism, Confirmation, NFP, Marriage, and etc.)
d. To request for Mass Offering (including Monthly Requiem Mass) by submitting their names and intention with a screenshot of the bank-in slip of the offering to the parish account (St. Anthony’s Church Fund, Maybank Account Number: 511065519336). The parish will send an acknowledgment to the petitioner when the intention is offered.
e. To make good suggestions to the Rector on how to improve in the area of pastoral care for all people in the parish community.
For your information, this phone will be managed by the parish staff during office hours and by the Rector outside of office hours.
4. The parish will have a parish webpage soon for better communication and sharing of information and parish resources. Details will be available soon.
5. Though we cannot gather physically during this time, however I do encourage all prayer groups to have prayer meetings and cell groups through online platforms such as Zoom or Google Meet to gather virtually in order to share the Word of God and strengthen one another during this difficult time.
As we celebrate Sunday of the Word of God today,
“Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;
teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Colossians 3:16
